snow

we got about a foot or so of snow yesterday and last night. it better melt before friday!!

guess who can sit up by herself!!!

She figured it out! I knew she could, b/c she would sit up in my lap and hold herself with just a hand on my leg for reassurance. i put her on the floor and just let her go. she lasted about 3 seconds then she rolled over haha! so i tried again, this time i held on to her foot and and gave her some encouragement and she did it! oh man she is so cute!!!

now these are much better pix. the lights were still on haha! notice the happy baby...didn't last long! lil man got a cool hat with his cotton candy. he also got a stein that looks like a white tiger and he got a battery-operated toy that spins and lights up and he got a huge box of popcorn haha! that's all he kept asking for was 'ah-corn.' what a cutie. as much as a pain sadie was, lil kenny's joy more than made up for it! he was happy and that makes me happy!

the circus was in town!

due to the fact it was dark and my cameras all suck, these pix look terrible and i'm sorry. but if u look closely u can make out a few things lol. u can see the elephants, the high wire ppl and some clowns haha! i stopped trying to take pix. sadie wasn't cooperating and i was frustrated that they all came out dark rrgghh! enjoy what u can! fyi: this was the ringling brothers barnum and baileys circus. and all frustration aaside, it was spectacular! they had little mini dashunds doing tricks. they were lil k's favorite part. he kept shouting 'wook at the puppies!' hehe! i personally loved the elephants. they are so majestic and graceful for such huge animals! they did the typical elephant tricks but i loved to watch them anyways lol. the white tigers were beautiful, too. if only i could keep one and cuddle with it. they looked so soft and lovable. they had girls climbing the ropes and swinging on the rings and doing their tricks and spins. we're definitely going to see them again and again! but from now on, i will NOT bring any babies!!! she was up past her bedtime and crying, couldnt sleep b/c it was so loud. i tried to hook her up to me but she couldnt relax enough to stop fussing. it was awful. she was too little to enjoy any of it anyways. at least my son had a great time and daddy did too!

lil k's 3rd bday! (before)

today is my son's 3rd birthday! woohoo!! i'll try to take some pics of the wrapped presents before he tears into them and the plates and hats and streamers before we get them up. daddy has school for a few hours today, so i'm going to make my kid take a nap (or at least gate him in his room) so we can decorate for him when daddys gets home. and on his way home, he's stopping off at carvel's to pick up the ice cream cake we had designed for him. its a 3D race car cake (not a flat cake) that looks like lightning mcqueen! i cant wait to see it! i will show u all before we dig into it haha! i got the lil guy a quee (pronouced 'key'. that's what he calls mcqueen) candle for his cake, u can see the quee pinata that he WILL NOT TOUCH!! u should have seen the spongebob pinata he got last year after he got ahold of it. poor spongebob lost his arms and feet, his eyes and all his yellow paper. *sigh* it was not pretty. we had to put him down. so this year that kid is NOT touching quee. we will hang him in his room. up high.
i must say i do think it's amazing that when most kids grow out of their phases of favorites, my kid still loves 'cars.' he will watch that movie over and over and over again. he quotes it. he sings the songs. he even acts out the parts of the movie with his quee and mack and chick hicks and the king. do u think he's been overexposed to 'cars?' he has his 'cars' tv, blankets, toys, table and chairs, more chairs, cups, plates, dinnerware, clothes, jammies. he uses them, plays with them, HAS to have mack to sleep at night, runs around in his quee slippers. i think its good he has one thing he loves so much. i think he might even find comfort in it. im ok with that. now if he STILL has quee when he is 16, then i might get worried! haha! but for now, my son has his one thing that he loves and needs. im happy he's got that attachment.

lil k and cars

we were watching adult tv (cops, etc) on the big weewee (tv according to lil k) and he wanted to watch wall-e. so daddy hooked him up on the computer with his cars papasan chair and blamket and headphones so he could watch wall-e and cars. he almost made it thru both mpvies before he asked for help to get down then crashed in the recliner with his daddy. he's so cute!

yet another rant about the kids' dr

if u remember from a previous post i was complaining at how long it took to get sadie in to see her dr for her 6-mo checkup and shots. well today was her appt. i went in at 9:30 and was told the nurse called in today b/c her kid was sick. no biggie, but the dr doesn't have a backup for her and she won't give the kids their shots! so i went all the way to carthage for her to do her physical, height, weight, etc and to have to schedule her to come back, again, to get her shots. by this point i'm about beside myself b/c it took me an entire month to reschedule her appt b/c of having to cancel her 6-mo when my gramma died. so i get in the room to see the dr and she says 'i see sadie is late getting her shots. and now she will be even later b/c we have to reschedule her to come in at another time for her shots.' i almost hit her. she is the one who cut back her hours to part-time. she is the one who put all the school kids whose parents waited til the last minute to get them their checkups in front of all her well-baby appts. she is the reason sadie is late getting her shots! i was fuming; her acting like its all my fault my daughter doesn't have her shots yet. rrggghhhh!! so after she gets checked and i go to make sadie another appt to come back to get her shots, i tell her b/c kenny is in school i can only come in on mon/wed am or all day friday. she tells me she doesn't work fridays. tells me she only works monday am and tues-thurs afternoons. i said 'are u kidding me?' so now i can only make appts on monday mornings b/c kenny has school the other days. she tried to tell me i had to wait til oct 13th to get sadie her shots! i told her she better get me in next week lol. she did. she rearranged some other ppl to get me in. she's lucky. but it gets better. lil kenny will be 3 in 2 weeks so i had her check to see when his appt was b/c i forgot. she tells me he isn't in the system for an appt. she got all nasty with me for not making him an appt. excuse me??? wtf was i just doing?? checking on my son's appt that apparently she didn't have a record of. again, trying to make me look like a bad parent to assuage her guilt over uselessness of a reliable pediatrician! the receptionist rearranged the schedule again so my son can have his appt in 3 weeks.
ur probably saying, why didn't she get a new dr after last month's fiasco. i have a few reasons for that. one is that she is the only dr my kids have seen. two, she was there when sadie was born and knows she almost died and she did good things to help her. i have some loyalty issues i guess. and thirdly, we are moving in a few months and i don't want to have to find another dr, then transfer the kids' records, then we move and have to do it all over again. *sigh* if i'm lucky, sadie will only have to go there 2 more times for her shots and her 9-mo checkup and lil kenny will only have to go this one more time for his 3-yr checkup. as long as the kids don't get sick or hurt, we'll be done with her. but from what the receptionist (ironically she is a lady friend i have known for a long time lol) told me, the hospital is looking for a full-time pediatrician. maybe she will get replaced by someone who is reliable and can work with her patients schedules! no one wants a dr for their kids who cares more about the money than her childs well-being. i sure don't. maybe when we leave i will write a nasty letter to the hospital about her. or i'll give terry the facts and have her write it haha! she's a good one with nasty letters to ppl in positions of authority!
ok so enough ranting..here's sadie's stats: she weighs 13 lbs 12 ozs (jake weighs more!), she is 24 3/4 inches long (jake is taller??), and has an almost 16 in head (i think). ok she sounds small to me. i know my son was a huge monster child, but she seems small! dr said she is still on the scale tho. at the bottom! the dr said 'well she was a small baby.' sadie was 7 lbs 1oz at birth. that is not small. that's bigger than average! kenny says she's just a dainty little girl! i guess so. she sure is cute little girl tho!

lil kenny's new 'cars' tv!

got this on craigslist for $50! it's co wicked cool!! the little guy stayed in his room and watched his fave movie 'cars' as soon as he got up from his nap and all thru dinner haha. guess he likes it. the mouth is a dvd player. when it's not playing a dvd it has mcqueen's eyes on the screen and when u adjust the volume, mcqueen goes forward and back on the screen. it's wicked cool! we all chilled in his room for a few minutes to watch the movie with him and sissy enjoyed being in her big brother's bed. our lil kiki also had to be included in our family fun lol. he cuddled up to sissy and kept her from rolling off the bed. he's a good kitty.

sorry they're sideways. u can enjoy them anyways! kenny had duty saturday night and the little guy was hysterical over daddy leaving so i dressed him up and tried to distract him while daddy left. and, no, it didn't work!

the swashbuckler

i think i found the cutest pirate ever!! he even says 'aarrrgghh matey' hehe! guess what he is gonna be for halloween..
we bought the dog a cage (which he LOVES) and the kid seemed to think it was a playyard for him. i was hard to get him out of there! he threw a fit! but he is still cute!
and then we found this kid robbing our house!! we tickled him mercilessly and he finally gave up.

trips to walmart

so last night i went to walmart to get some milk b/c we were out and with kenny being in school all day, it's the only time i can go. sadie was already in bed and the little guy wanted to go with me, so i brought him with me in his cars jammies and lightnin mcqueen slippers and his tony hawk sweatshirt (yes its already that chilly up here at night!). on the way in a few young ppl thought he was the cutest thing they ever saw haha! we get back to the dairy section and they have NO MILK!!! how can u not have milk!?!? i got all mad b/c i drove all the way there, wasted my gas and they had no freakin' milk! so i had to go back today to get milk b/c we ran out today, which is the reason i went LAST night so we wouldn't run out today! rrggh! so after sadie gets up from her nap (LATE!) i feed her boobymilk and oatmeal and green beans (she made the funny faces today hehe!). she wanted a second booby after she ate and against my better judgement i gave it to her. i packed her up in her carseat and with the sounds of my terribly upset and bawling son lingering in my ears, we go off to walmart. they're lucky they had milk tonite. i made it quite clear to my daughter that mommy was not gonna be very happy if they didn't have milk stocked. she responded with her usual smiles and giggles and coos and i forgot i was supposed to be angry lol. i still get awed by God's grace that he let me have her. she is my beautiful miracle baby and i just keep thanking God for her. needless to say, they had milk. good. horray for me. someone did their job. i grabbed the 3 gallons of milk i needed and we were off to the next aisle for juice and salad stuff and bread. i always talk to my kids when i shop. tell them what we're doing and what i'm looking for next. i'm so weird sometimes, i know. i get all the stuff i need and get to checkout. sadie was an angel like always but as i was paying for the food, she decides to empty her bowels for all creation to smell!! OMG! there is nothing worse than buttered-popcorn-smelling-green-bean-poop!! she got it all over her onesie, pants and blanket! needless to say i had to do her laundry as soon as i got home. here's a mystery i haven't been able to figure out: why is it that when babies poop, it gets all over everything else they have on except their diaper??? isn't that what a diaper is there for? how did her little butt cheeks stay clean?? i'll never understand haha!

green beans and oatmeal

so u might know that i started sadie on cereal about a month or so ago. she was eating alot and i STILL haven't gotten in to see her pediatrician to make sure she is clear to start solids. she is too busy with school kids and has no time for us. whatever. anyways i started her on rice and she took right to it! she's still pretty messy and she mushes it with her tongue and it spills out of her mouth lol. typical learning baby. we started her on oatmeal last week and she seems to like it even better than the rice. so i have been waiting to see her dr so that i can make sure all's good and start sadie on veggies. well since i had to cancel her appt so we could go to massechusetts for my gramma's memorial service, i couldn't get another appt til the middle of sept! talk about frustrating! why do these other parents of school-aged kids wait til the last minute to get their kids checkups for school! very inconsiderate if u ask me! considering that sadie's dr has 2 days set aside for well-baby appts. i guess she overroad that so she could make more money! well i decided on my own to start sadie on veggies and tonite we started green beans. i kept waiting for the screwy face that the little ones make when tasting something new but she didn't do it! i guess someone likes her green beans! she ate one booby, a bowl of cereal, a few spoons of greenbeans and another booby! and now she is crabby for more booby. both my kids are such hogs!! i should be a ton skinnier than i am from feeding these two!! haha! (let me clarify: i'm NOT still breastfeeding lil kenny in case anyone's wondering haha!) gotta go, the princess is calling!

anthony's visit

kenny's friend, anthony, came for a visit over the weekend. his nickname is 'AR' but the little guy kept calling him 'ER' haha! it was pretty funny. anthony got sissy that toy that the kids are playing with and he got kenny the 'screaming banshee' from the CARS movie. on the dvd they have extras and one of the extra flicks is about mater and the ghost light. the banshee is from that story. i didn't even know they made one! it's pretty cool. it eats the mini CARS characters and there's a rubberband thingy that u use to shoot mater at the back of the banshee and it spits out the mini cars. mater's the hero! oh and it growls haha!
