the importance of the mental health of our troops returning from deployments is a major issue for rock group 'drowning pool.' this weekend here in upstate ny we had about 40 bands performing to raise money for our troops. there has been a petition created by 'drowning pool' to a congressman to get our returning troops the help they need when they return home. 'drowning pool' has been to baghdad, kuwait and other places to play for our deployed troops. this is an important issue for them, as they respect and thank our troops for their hard work and sacrifices they make for us every day. please show ur support. please sign this petition. u would be chocked to learn how soldiers r being blown off by their commands and not given the help they need. u cant return from war and not be changed somehow. these men and women need our help! please visit this site and sign this petition. lets show our troops we do support them before, during and after a deployment. do it for kenny. do it for me. do it for ur loved one serving. do it b/c u care. we were at a restaurant eating dinner and nathan was exhausted so he passed out. well kenny can go all day long, as u can see here. but what i wanted to u all to really see is that face. tell me he is not the spittin image of his father at that age! except for his blue eyes...those he got from me!

easter sunday

easter was fun! we had the neighbors lay out all the eggs with the jellybeans in them on their floor so the babies could find them easily. the kids had a hard time opening them but they found out if they threw them on the tile floor the eggs would break and they could get the jellybeans haha! kenny's pants were a bit too big and they ended up falling off a bit later on. he is wearing a white dress shirt and his new 'best' as his daddy used to call his vests. u can totally see his beautiful blue eyes in the last pic. he is so beautiful. i'm so glad he's mine.

see? i told u! they insist on baths together. kenny was still dressed and that didnt stop him from getting in the tub haha!

boyz in the tub

after a long day of easter egg hunting and candy eating, the boyz needed a bath. well they were both crabby so i decided to get them in a bubble bath at my house. as u can see, bubbles are an instant smile-maker. both of them LOVE baths and insist on taking them together every night haha! the other little boy here is my upstairs neighbor, dawn's son. he will be 2 in july. these 2 are definitely 2 peas in a pod! and yes, nathaniel was eating bubbles.

newest additions

we got new babies! the brown guinea pig with the white saddle is named 'hershey squirt' and the brown one with the rosettes and the light brown swirl is called 'brownie cheesecake.' you should hear em squeaking to each other haha! we got hershey 2 days ago, but he was lonely and scared and didnt do anything. so i went today and got one of his brothers. they talk all the time and race around the cage. its so totally cute! im glad i got the 2nd one. they havent figured out how to use the giant walk-around ball yet tho. i might have to get another one later since it would be too funny to see them try to go in opposite directions in the same ball haha! its so fun and cute hearing them squeak and play. im so glad i got them both. i needed the cute distraction.

poor baby buns

my poor son! i don't know what is up with him but he keeps having days where he just poops all day and his buns get so sore. we do like 4 baths on those days b/c i cant touch him. he gets so raw. i really, really didn't want to put a diaper on him after his bath. i wanted him to get air on his buns so he could heal, but i really didn't wanna clean up after him if he let loose on my carpet. then i remembered i had some cloth diapers from when he was born that i used for burp cloths. i dug em out and put one on him attached with a couple pins. and i added some powder haha! he hasn't peed or pooped (yet) and he seems to be feeling better. i cant get him to drink plain water, which upsets me b/c he needs to. so i got him a new cup with a straw to hopefully get him to acquire a taste for it. its a lightning mcqueen cup and he has fun with it. he, of course, tips it up like a regular sippy cup so i tell him he needs mommy's help. he throws a fit for a second or two but then he gets excited about it haha! he's so darn silly! he drank most of the water in it too. so i'm happy about that. i'm putting a regular diaper back on him when he goes to bed, but i just wanted him to not hurt anymore. i feel so bad for him when that happens to his buns. he seems to b e doing ok at the moment. the morning will tell if we have to repeat todays baths and cloth diapers. hey, as long as it helps him...

1st haircut

baby's 1st haircut! it didnt go as well as i had hoped. he freaked as soon as we walked in to the hair place. he cried from the minute he got put in the chair to the minute we left. haha! but the guy who cut it said he did extremely well. i guess he has a regular kid who comes in and this kid is really bad. lil man was good. he didnt try to get down or anything, he just sat there and cried. poor little guy. i think he was just scared. he is so darn cute now! not that he wasnt before, grammy. but now his beautiful eyes stand out and his sweet little face...he is such a handsome baby boy. he looks so cute i just keep drinking him in with my eyes! i cant stop looking at him!!

scarey me!!

ok scariest pic ever!! my friend, shawna, sent me this. this is what i looked like when i lived in georgia right after i got out of the navy. about 7 years ago. i look really bad but i LOVE the hair color. i want it back again! i wonder how upset kenny would be...he never said i couldnt dye it...haha!

mug tree

im certain that this pic needs some explanation. this isnt just any old mug tree. my mom had a mug tree when i wasa kid and i have always wanted one. well i bought these new dishes sets. the orange ones are round and the green ones are square. theya re the colest, most awesome place settings!! and i can interchange them for dinners and stuff. anyways, the settings came with 4 of each: mugs, dinner plates, lunch plates and bowls. so i had 8 coffee mugs. well i searched high and low for a mug rack for 8. all i kept seeing was ones to hold 6 mugs. so after being frustrated i was absolutely elated to find one that holds 8 mugs. i found it on ebay and its amish made. well i picked it up today and i almost cried! it is absolutely gorgeous!!! its perfect! and the guy i bought it from wrapped it up with so much care...im so happy with it i could cry! i know. im a dork.
